One of the most recognizable names in the AISA administration and athletics. Niblett is now in his third year at Hooper Academy. He has served on the AISA Athletic Committee, the Board of Directors and the Accreditation Committee. He was President of the AISA Coaches Association for eight years. He is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Educators and has served as headmaster in AISA schools over the past 27 years. On the athletic field, he is just as accomplished, having won seven state championships in four sports. He is most recognized for his football teams. He won the 1979 state title at South Montgomery; the 1990 title at Demopolis and the 1991-92 titles at Glenwood. He has compiled the best record in the state for a person coaching primarily in the AISA with 255 victories. He has also won state championships in baseball, softball, and basketball. He has coached in the AISA All-Star Football Game 11 times. He has been selected Coach of the Year by the media on nine different occasions, and was the AISA Football Coach of the Year in 1990. He served as headmaster, athletic director and head football coach at Meadowview Christian (twice), South Montgomery, Lee-Scott, Coosa Valley, Demopolis, Glenwood, and Central Christian Academy prior to coming to Hooper. The 1964 graduate of Tarrant and 1969 graduate of Jacksonville State, who later earned a Ph.D. in education administration, got his start in the public school system as a coach at Anniston High, Dadeville High, Opelika High and Southside High in Selma before moving to the AISA ranks in June 1976.
