Coach Zach Golson graduated from Huntingdon College with a BA in Sports Management. He began his athletic career at Autauga Academy, where he was the Generals' starting quarterback for two years. He also led the state in interceptions as a freshman. During that year, the Generals won the state Class 1A AISA championship. His senior year he transferred to Prattville High School, were he played wide receiver. He was voted a team captain by his peers and helped lead the Lions to the 6A semi-finals. He graduated from Prattville High School with a 3.96 GPA in 2003. After graduation, he walked on at the University of Alabama as a quarterback. In 2004 he transferred to Huntingdon College, where he was a four-year starter at quarterback. He finished with over 6,700 passing yards and 50 TD while being elected team Captain his senior year. Coach Golson also lettered as a point guard on Huntingdon's basketball team his senior year, and was named Huntingdon College’s Male Athlete of the Year. During his playing career at Huntingdon he returned to Autauga Academy where he coached JV and Varsity Basketball. As an assistant he helped the Generals to a final four birth in 2005-2006 and a state championship in 2006-2007.
